 | Start a New CBL Chapter |
 |
|
Want to start a CBL chapter in your city? We want to encourage you in this endeavor. It is exciting to see business professionals coming together to make a difference in each other, communities and non-profits. Experience has shown in beginning chapters these steps are necessary for a chapter to become effective.
First and of foremost importance is prayer concerning your role and the business professionals the chapter will influence.
Second, make contact with a CBL office of your choice, giving your contact information and a team member will be in touch with you concerning the chapter.
What works in beginning a new chapter successfully?
- Membership commitment from 4-5 business leaders desiring to establish a new chapter.
- A Corporate Sponsor who has the vision of building and modeling business cultures of integrity, character and trust through servant leadership.
- A planned meeting of the above with a CBL staff member to discuss next steps and arrangements.
- This core group becomes the founding team leaders of the chapter and will execute the initial start up activities of CBL.
- The team will secure and confirm a location of the luncheon (normally a country club, or a community club, all of which have a kitchen staff for serving monthly meals, normally where business people have lunch and business meetings)
- This team will make a list of 25-50 business leaders who meet the profile of membership. Extend an invitation to these 25-50 leaders for an informal luncheon in which CBL’s mission, vision and values will be explained by a team member from the CBL office, and a Q/A session. Interest and commit cards will be available at the luncheon for follow up the next week by the team.
- One week after the luncheon the team will report to the CBL office the number of of responses and commitments gained during the luncheon. The CBL office will decide if the timing is right to move forward with a chapter.
- If the response is to move forward (minimum of 5 members and potential list of members of 10) the team will be trained by CBL staff before the next monthly luncheon to officially begin the chapter.
- Monthly online reports of membership and activities will be required of the team for office records.
When do you begin multiple chapters in a metropolitan area? Each chapter will host another chapter when the following criteria have been fulfilled.
- When the host chapter has reached a membership level of 75 and an attendance level of 50 plus.
- There is a commitment of 5 members to serve on the foundational team and have been trained by CBL staff.
- The location of the new chapter is strategic and the building that has a kitchen staff (country club or community club)secured by the new team for the first monthly luncheon
- A list of 25-50 prospective business leaders have been contacted about the first meeting. (members of the host chapter may attend the new chapter)
